Specialty Footwear International is a manufacturing company catering to very specific markets. SFI designs, develops, manufactures and markets shoes and boots for groups of people with specific needs created by the very task they perform. Traditionally, the footwear industry has defined the needs of working people in generic terms. SFI defines the needs of working people in very specific terms. This is what makes SFI unique. No other company can advance this claim.
Let us be more to the point.

Large footwear stores carry work boots and shoes. This category of boots and shoes is generally associated with steel toe construction, heavy outsole, thick leather, and robust hardware. They are intended for people performing manual labor. However, the needs of a mechanic working on cars are quite different from those of a construction worker or a bus driver. A generic work shoe will not satisfy entirely any of the three named categories.
SFI creates and markets footwear designed for the specific needs of specific groups of working people or people with special needs. SFI has already entered the market with some specific lines for selected groups performing special tasks:
• The “Silvis” line was created and is marketed for the specific needs of archery hunters. This line is characterized by a number of features that sets it apart from any other hunting brand in the United States.
• The “BSA Footwear program” was developed for youngsters participating in aggressive outdoor activities. The line incorporates special features of posture control, foot safety and special odor eliminating characteristics that are most appropriate for growing youngsters.
• The
“Mechanics Shoe” for individuals spending their days servicing our cars. As mechanics spend eight to ten hours a day working on cars, this line needs to provide special body posture characteristics, great flexibility, odor elimination, superior comfort and unparallel protection.

All these lines required a longer than usual development process, and great attention to details, as each characteristic had to be specifically tried out on test groups. In the end, we are proud to present to the market a product that will not compete in the “low price” market place. Rather we have created a product for the discriminating end user who is quite aware that proper foot care in a work situation is one of the most pressing needs of every working individual both in order to maximize work effectiveness and to prevent fatigue in the present and body stress in the future.
